GX Range

The new GX engines establish themselves as some of Honda's best engines yet and the GX270 is no different. With features like an 8.4HP, OHV horizontal-shaft engine with electronic ignition and Oil Alert®. With the same variety of uses as the GX240 but with an additional horsepower, this engine can make difficult jobs seem easy.

Applications include: Agricultural equipment, Air compressors, Blowers/vacs, Cement mixers and trowels, Chippers/shredders, Concrete saws, Generators, Go-karts, Pressure washers, Water pumps, Plus many other construction applications.

Fuel efficiency coupled with high output operation

The GX270 comes with a digital CDI ignition system with variable timing, an increased compression ratio and high compression ratio for better fuel efficiency. Plus Honda's precision camshaft design offering precise valve timing and optimal valve overlap for better fuel efficiency and the OHV design increases efficiency and optimal power transfer.

Honda's precision engineered components and improved piston design result in lower vibration. The GX270's ball bearing supported crankshaft and heavy duty balancer shaft creates greater stability.

The GX270 has reduced mechanical noise due to light weight, noise-reducing materials: A sophisticated air intake, large capacity, multi-chamber exhaust system, improved camshaft and muffler reduce overall engine noise by up to 5 dB, helical cut gears, forged steel crankshaft and rigid crankcase.
